1. Saltie Girl
The newest location of a Boston landmark, Saltie Girl is now serving guests in West Hollywood. They are known for their mouthwatering menu of impressive seafood towers, lobster rolls, oysters, and more. With an elegant array of dishes to choose from and a swanky, chic atmosphere, this is no casual seafood shack. It’s the perfect place for a sophisticated date night in an ideal WeHo location.
2. Layla Bagels
Looking for a place to grab breakfast in Santa Monica? Try the new Layla Bagels. They serve sourdough bagels, made in house every morning and served open faced with gourmet topping piled high. Try something simple and fresh like seasonal fruit with cream cheese and honey, or go for a more hearty creation like The Laika, with smoked salmon, tomato, pickled onions, capers, and herbed cream cheese.
3. Coucou
Coucou has opened in Venice and takes the French bistro experience to an entirely new level. With a prime location on Main Street in Santa Monica, Heavy Handed is quickly growing a cult following with a long line forming outside it’s bright orange building each day. They are known for their burgers, with patties made from ground short rib.
As the name implies, this is not the place for a light lunch. Their menu of heavy, hearty, satisfying foods includes fries cooked in beef tallow and their signature burger topped with American cheese, house brined pickles, caramelized onions, and special sauce. Don’t forget to finish your meal with a butterscotch dipped soft serve ice cream cone.
5. Villa’s Tacos
No list of Los Angeles restaurants would be complete without a new Mexican spot to try. Villa’s Tacos now has a brick and mortar location after experience wild success in their food truck. They were featured on the Netflix show Taco Chronicles, and have gained even more popularity since.
What makes their tacos so special? Creativity like the queso tacos, where the traditional tortilla has been swapped out for a crispy shell made of lacy Monterey Jack cheese. Whatever you order, you can’t go wrong with their mesquite grilled meats and homemade blue corn tortillas.
