Welcome to Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills sits southeast of Bel-Air in Los Angeles County surrounding Beverly Park Gardens and parts of Sunset Boulevard or Highway Two. Since the 1950s, Beverly Hills has marketed itself as a high-end shopping paradise and home to some of the country’s most rich and famous residents and celebrities. Today, Beverly Hills is home to about 35,000 residents and has been touted as the #9 Best Pl. to retire in the state of California.

Beverly Hills is surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood is currently home to celebrities, luxury hotels, and the famous Rodeo Drive shopping district. It was originally a Mexican ranch that cultivated lima beans but was incorporated in 1914 by a group of investors who had failed to find oil but found water instead and eventually developed it into the town it is today. Over the years, Beverly Hills has grown to be one of the most affluent communities in the entire Los Angeles County area and is part of the areas Platinum Triangle, which includes neighboring Bel Air and Holmby Hills.

Most residents of Beverly Hills live in what is referred to as the “flats” of Beverly Hills, a flat area that slopes away from the hills including all of Beverly Hills south of Sunset Boulevard and north of Santa Monica Blvd. Most of the homes situated in the hills have much higher home values than the rest of the city. Nearly all the businesses, government offices, and commercial services are located south of Santa Monica Blvd. except for the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Downtown Beverly Hills is also known as the Golden Triangle, a retail and dining hub featuring high-end boutiques, upscale chain retailers, award-winning dining options, and entertainment venues. S. Beverly Dr. offers an additional dining and shopping hub.
